Amazon is a ecommerce company who plays a role of a third party between buyers and sellers. Basically Amazon is a website build by jeff bezos to help buyers and sellers to communicate with each other and in this way they exchange things, goods for money and money for goods. Someone with an Internet connection can open a shop or store of their products on Amazon and at the same time a buyer or consumer can go to Amazon for their purchases.
