YouTube one of the biggest social media platforms on earth.
The name YouTube is very straightforward, you represents the user-generated content and Tube is an older term for television.
This multi-billion dollar company has billions of users and thousands of hours of video content uploaded every few minutes.

On February 14 2005 YouTube was launched by three PayPal employees job Kareem, Steve Chen and Chad Hurley.
Together they wish to create an online site for people to share videos about themselves.
This concept quickly evolved and expanded on to a broader platform.
The first ever video was uploaded by jawed Karim and was named "me at the zoo", during this 19 second clip he showcased a group of elephants located in the San Diego Zoo.
The first YouTube headquarters was located above a pizzeria and Japanese restaurant in San Mateo California.
In December 2005 a Nike commercial of Brazilian soccer player Ronald Eno receiving his pair of golden boots became the first video to receive 1 million views.

PewDiePie has since surpassed a hundred million subscribers and is the most subscribed to solo creator on the platform today. with an eye on innovation YouTube introduced skippable ads allowing customers to skip over ads after 5 seconds and launch straight into the video they wanted to watch. in December 2010 the first YouTube rewind video retrospective was uploaded titled 2010 YouTube rewind year-in-review, it featured the top 10 most popular videos for the preceding year.
YouTube rewind 2018 is currently the most disliked video on YouTube.
In 2011 YouTube Live was launched allowing the streaming of news and special events such as concerts, gaming tournaments,royal weddings and worldwide sporting events such as the Olympics. during the next few years YouTube created partnerships with mainstream media to create several news gaming and entertainment channels.
In 2015 Google launched YouTube music and YouTube kids a new family-friendly version of the video platform that filtered content to ensure it's safe for minors.
The Kids platform offered parental controls, like limited screen time and disabling search.
The launch of YouTube gaming provided a way for gamers to live stream their play sessions to a live audience thus allowing them to interact and chat in real time.
In 2019 popular channels PewDiePie and t-series would be locked in a fierce battle to be the first to reach 100 million subscribers.
PewDiePie an individual content creator was helped by an amazing international grassroots campaign and numerous other YouTube stars such as Mr. beast and Logan Paul.
They would play a big role in helping PewDiePie achieve his goal before T series.
On May 29 t-series a Bollywood music label won the epic contest by reaching 100 million subscribers to the dismay of PewDiePie as many loyal fans.
